bass fishing spinning are baitcaster?

Question: i normally fish a texas rigged plastic 6'' worm using florocarbon line.with a 1/8 once weight. what whould be the diffence in spinning versus baitcater reels. also well a 7 foot rod be as sensitive as a 6 foot rod?

Answer: For baits that light a spinning outfit will be necessary. Lightweight lures less than 3/16oz are very difficult to cast on a baitcaster without backlashing. Rod sensitivity has more to do with materials, design, action, power and construction used in manufacturing than length does. For the type of fishing you are doing I would choose a 7 foot quality graphite light-medium or medium power depending on what size line you are using, a fast tip action, spinning rod. A drop-shot rod would be ideal. Kistler makes a great one:http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/KR/c-/MgAPM70S.html
