What (if anything) is an A wedge?

Question: As far as i "knew" you had you pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge. However i was watch "playing lessons from the pros" and it can up on the TV with the pro's club choice and it said A wedge. Now i have never heard of an A wedge, has anyone else? What loft has it got? ect.

Answer: Approach is the same as the 'gap' wedge you mentioned in your notes. Generally the Pitching Wedge is 47 or 48 degrees loft. The Lob wedge is usually 60 degrees to 64. and the gap will be a degree that will fit the shot in between the lob and pitch. Generally it's between 50 and 54 degrees depending on the lofts of the other wedges. It will also normally have more bounce than the lob wedge and a narrower sole because it will be meant for hitting shots out of the fairway. Therefore it will be slightly more versatile.
